Today P had a head ultrasound to check for brain bleeds. For some background, there are three classifications of brain bleeds. A level 1 is the least severe and level 3 is the most. These mostly occur from trauma at birth. Well Miss P’s came back normal which means she has no brain bleed! Her first one from the day after she was born came back normal as well. This is a major answer to prayer! Especially since brain bleeds are a major indicator of CP and other brain injuries.
She is also tolerating her feeds well and we are hoping she will get her PICC line out in the next couple of days.
Our big concerns for her now are to have her gain weight, remain infection free, get her off CPAP, and have her bradys resolve. Also for her to have her PICC line removed and for her to continue to tolerate her feedings.
In other news Rick and I are sick and unable to visit the NICU until our sickness recedes. It is nearly killing me.
